![]() ![]() My very favorite, and most often enjoyed activity, is running around after and exploring with my rambunctious toddler. My husband and I enjoy camping and hiking, something we hope to do more of in Virginia. I’m a big music enthusiast and especially enjoy singing. I love to bake and try out new culinary techniques. I cannot think of a more rewarding career. In dermatology, I love practicing in a varied and ever-innovating specialty, in which my patients can actually see the improvement in their health that we work together to achieve just by looking in the mirror. In medicine, I’m honored to help people navigate through health challenges. I grew up with a parent who has a chronic illness and know firsthand the complex physical, mental, and emotional roller coaster that patients can find themselves on. One of my favorite childhood memories is the smell of freshly mowed hay on a beautiful summer day. ![]() I spent a large part of my childhood growing up on a small farm in New York State. It’s one reason why I like to cook! What is your favorite childhood memory? Now we are enjoying them all over again, 20 years later! What’s your favorite type of foreign food? We got hooked on the show because the creativity of the stories was impressive and we could relate to the many leadership challenges that the crew faced. When Star Trek, The Next Generation first aired, my husband and I were both in the military. Reruns of Star Trek, The Next Generation. What was the last thing you recorded on TV? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is focused on the family and lacks the high stress and commercialism of Christmas. I enjoy gardening, skiing, cooking, and just having fun. I like getting to know each unique individual over time. One of the most enjoyable things about my work is the diversity of my patients. What is your favorite thing about your career? We believe that we can excel in quality, patient experience, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, all are members of our local, state and national dermatological and medical professional societies.ĭAV is a founding member of MD Value Care, an organization of independent physician practices in Richmond, VA. Our dermatologists are all board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Furthermore, our highly professional team members address all of our patient’s skin diseases in convenient, comfortable and attractive settings. While the treatment of skin diseases and skin cancers is our specialty, we also offer a variety of cosmetic services. Our doctors and physician assistants provide medical and surgical treatments for skin diseases occurring in patients of all ages. We have one office in Colonial Heights and five in the greater Richmond area. Since then, Dermatology Associates has grown to twenty-one providers practicing at six central Virginia locations. The original office started on Hamilton Street in the near West End, but was soon moved to a house on Grove Avenue. Caravati, Jr., M.D., a Richmond native, founded Dermatology Associates of Virginia in 1969.
